Commissioner Cui Jianchun Attended Annual China Conference Hosted by AmCham Hong Kong

On April 28, 2026, Commissioner Cui Jianchun attended the annual China Conference hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong(AmCham Hong Kong) and delivered an opening speech. About 200 representatives from the business and academic communities of China and the United States, including Chairman of AmCham Hong KongDavid Butts, and President of AmCham Hong Kong Eden Woon, attended the conference.

Commissioner Cui said that the 15th Five-Year Plan charts the course for China’s development over the next five years. China will continue to expand high-standard opening-up and share development opportunities with the world. We will fully, faithfully, and resolutely implement the “one country, two systems”policy. The 15th Five-Year Plan lays out strategic arrangements forsafeguarding and promoting Hong Kong’s long-term prosperity and stability, and Hong Kong is entering the best period of its development. Guided by the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation put forward by President Xi Jinping, China promotes the stable, sound and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations, which serves the common interests of the two peoples and meets the expectations of the international community. It is hoped that AmCham Hong Kong will continue to act as a bridge for promoting win-win cooperation between China and the United States.

The theme of this year’s Conference is Whats Next for China Business: Strategy in an Age of Uncertainty. The guests held discussions around topics such as the development of China-U.S. relations, the technology competition between the two countries, and opportunities as well as challenges in the Chinese market. They expressed broad hope for steady progress in China-U.S. relations, commended China’s achievements in high-quality development and high-standard opening-up, and voiced optimism about new opportunities in both the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong.
