On March 27, 2026, in response to the so-called "security alert" issued by the US Consulate General in Hong Kong regarding the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government's amendments to the Implementation Rules for Article 43 of the National Security Law, Commissioner Cui Jianchun summoned Julie Eadeh, Consul General of the United States in Hong Kong, to lodge solemn representations. Commissioner Cui expressed strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition, urging the U.S. side to immediately cease interfering in Hong Kong affairs and China's internal affairs in any form.
