On January 7, Commissioner Cui Jianchun received a courtesy call from New CG of Bangladesh Mr. Shah Mohammad Tanvir Monsur. Deputy Commissioner Mr. Hua You, consul of the Bengali Consulate General in Hong Kong Mr. Zahidur Rahman and others participated.

Commissioner Cui presented the Consul General Monsur with the exequatur. He briefed the Consul General on the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20^th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the successful practice of “One Country, Two Systems” in Hong Kong, as well as Hong Kong’s unique advantages. He encouraged Consul General to play an active role in strengthening cooperation between the Hong Kong SAR and Bangladesh in various fields.

Consul General Monsur stated that Bangladesh firmly adheres to the one-China principle, Taiwan is an inalienable part of China, and that Bangladesh supports the “One Country, Two Systems” policy. He would play a positive role in promoting cooperation between Bangladesh and the Hong Kong SAR in areas such as investment, trade, and tourism.
