On September 13, 2024, Commissioner Cui Jianchun met with consul general of South Africa Mr Mojalefa MOGONO.

    Commissioner Cui spoke highly of the China-South Africa and China-Africa relations,and briefed Mr MOGONO on the third plenary session of the 20th Communist Party of China Central Committee and hope South Africa seize the historic opportunities from China's ongoing reform and further promote exchanges and cooperation between Hong Kong and South Africa. Mr. MOGONO said South Afirca highly appreciates China's development achievements, firmly supports the "one country, two systems" policy,and attaches great importance to Hong Kong's unique advantages as a "super connector".He is willing to further deepen exchanges and cooperation between South Africa and HongKong in various fields .

The two sides also had in-depth exchanges of views on other issues of mutual interest.
