Commissioner’s Office: Safeguarding National Security is Justified and U.S. Interference is Futile
2025-06-11 14:14

In response to the US State Department spokesperson openly supporting anti-China element Joshua Wong, smearing Hong Kong police's lawful actions, and blatantly interfering in Hong Kong affairs and China's internal matters, the spokesperson of the Office of the Commissioner of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in Hong Kong expressed strong disapproval and firm opposition.

The spokesperson stated that Hong Kong is a society governed by the rule of law, where lawbreakers must be held accountable. The Hong Kong police acted lawfully in handling anti-China forces, and the judiciary delivered fair rulings—this is entirely legitimate. The US has repeatedly used "human rights" and "freedom" as pretexts to back its pawns, exposing its malicious intent.

The spokesperson emphasized that U.S. interference will never shake the Hong Kong government's resolve to uphold the rule of law and hold criminals accountable, will never weaken the central and Hong Kong governments' firm commitment to safeguarding national security, and will never stop the development of "one country, two systems”. We urge the US to recognize the reality, change course, immediately stop glorifying lawbreakers, and cease its political manipulation of “using Hong Kong to contain China”.
