On February 12, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Hong Kong held a reception celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam. Commissioner Cui Jianchun and his wife attended the reception.
Consul General of Vietnam in Hong Kong Le Duc Hanh delivered a welcome speech and Commissioner Cui delivered a keynote speech. Under Secretary for the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau of the HKSAR government CHAN Pak Li and other HKSAR government officials and representatives from all walks of life attended the event.

Commissioner Cui stated that, over the past 75 years, under the strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries, China and Vietnam firmly supported each other, learned from each other and deepened comprehensive strategic cooperation together. The building of the China-Vietnam community with a shared future has also made solid progress. The Commissioner’s Office will mobilize diplomatic resources and work with the HKSAR Government to provide support for Hong Kong-Vietnam cooperation, so as to better benefit the people of both sides.

Ms. Le stated that over the 75-year historical journey, the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China has maintained a stable and positive trajectory. She also reaffirmed that the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation with China remains a consistent and top priority in Vietnam’s policy. Vietnam will work with China to jointly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and continuously build a community with a shared future between Vietnam and China. Vietnam attaches great importance to the unique advantages of the HKSAR, and will further expand exchanges and cooperation with the HKSAR in various fields.
The reception was held at a festive atmosphere as guests gathered together to celebrate the big anniversary. They expressed the willingness to promote Hong Kong-Vietnam cooperation to a new level.
