On August 20, Commissioner Cui Jianchun met upon request with Ambassador of South Africa to China Ms. Dipuo Letsatsi-Duba during her visit to Hong Kong.

Commissioner Cui welcomed Ambassador Duba to Hong Kong and spoke highly of China–South Africa relations. He briefed the Ambassador on the successful implementation of "One Country, Two Systems" in Hong Kong as well as the city's unique strengths, expressing the hope that the South African side would seize Hong Kong's development opportunities and deepen exchanges and cooperation across various sectors.

Ambassador Duba noted that South Africa cherishes the all-round strategic cooperative partnership in the new era between the two countries, and stands ready to work with China to promote the sustained and sound development of bilateral relations. She emphasized that South Africa attaches great importance to Hong Kong's distinctive advantages, and looks forward to strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation with Hong Kong in such fields as economy and trade, and finance.
