Overseas Government Delegation Visits Hong Kong

    The overseas government delegation, organized by China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and consisted of envoys to China and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 13 countries in Africa and Latin America, visited Hong Kong from May 26 to 29. During the visit, the delegation exchanged ideas with senior officials of the SAR government, held talks with departments in charge of finance, economy and trade, innovation and technology, and education, and visited the International Organization for Mediation, the West Kowloon Cultural District and Hong Kong Science and Technology Park.

    Commissioner Cui Jianchun said to the delegation that the practice of "one country, two systems" in Hong Kong has achieved universally acknowledged success, and the China’s 15th Five-Year Plan has made strategic arrangements for promoting long-term prosperity and stability in Hong Kong, which guarantees Hong Kong a brighter development prospect. It is hoped that all countries will actively expand exchanges and cooperation with Hong Kong and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, make good use of Hong Kong's advantages and enhance win-win cooperation.

    Members of the delegation said that the visit was impressive and helpful for a comprehensive understanding of Hong Kong's successful practice of "one country, two systems" and its unique advantages, and expressed their willingness to strengthen practical cooperation with Hong Kong and contribute to better development of their relations with China.

    The delegation also went to Qianhai district of  Shenzhen to learn about the latest development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
