On January 14, Commissioner Cui Jianchun met with Liao Changjiang, Chairman of the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), at the Commissioner's Office. Vice Commissioner Hua You of the Office, Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, Chief Executive Officer of the HKJC, and Tam Chi-yuen, Executive Director of Corporate Affairs of the HKJC, attended the meeting.

Commissioner Cui elaborated on the profound significance of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan for advancing Hong Kong's long-term prosperity and stability. He encouraged the HKJC to continue leveraging its unique strengths to support Hong Kong in better integrating into and serving the overall national development agenda, deepening international exchanges and cooperation, and making positive contributions to the steady and enduring advancement of "One Country, Two Systems". Commissioner Cui expressed gratitude to the HKJC for its long-standing support for the work of the Commissioner's Office, and stated that the Office is willing to further deepen bilateral cooperation to jointly help Hong Kong's youth gain a better understanding of national conditions, social realities and people's livelihoods, enrich their diplomatic knowledge, broaden their international horizons, and strengthen their patriotism and sense of national belonging.
Liao Changjiang stated that the HKJC is ready to further deepen cooperation with the Commissioner's Office in youth development, and jointly provide more diplomatic knowledge to Hong Kong's youth and nurture their ability to tell China's stories well in an international context. The HKJC will also make greater positive contributions to the development of the country and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area through various initiatives, and commit itself to consolidating Hong Kong's role as a "super connector" linking the Chinese mainland with the rest of the world.
Commissioner Cui and Chairman Liao also jointly witnessed the signing of a bilateral cooperation agreement for the period 2026 to 2028.
