On June 24, Commissioner Cui Jianchun met with Mr Jose VARELA, Consul General of Panama in Hong Hong.

Commissioner Cui presented the exequatur to Mr VARELA, and briefed him on the successful practice of the "one country, two systems" in Hong Kong and Hong Kong’s unique advantages. Mr VARELA said that Panama values Hong Kong’s distinctive strength and status, and that he would further promote exchanges and cooperation between Panama and Hong Kong in various fields such as shipping, trade, tourism and investment.

The two sides also exchanged views on China-Panama relationship and other issues of mutual interest.
