From April 23 to 24, 2025, the ASEAN-China Joint Cooperation Committee (ACJCC) Delegation visited Hong Kong. Chinese Ambassador to ASEAN Hou Yanqi, ASEAN countries’ permanent representatives to ASEAN, senior diplomats of permanent missions to ASEAN, Timor-Leste’s Ambassador to ASEAN, and ASEAN’s deputy secretary-general attended the delegation.
During the visit to Hong Kong, the delegates met and exchanged views with Acting Chief Executive of the HKSAR Mr. Paul Lam and other officials of the HKSAR Government. They also paid on-site inspections to different places in Hong Kong and learned more about Hong Kong’s latest developments as an international financial, shipping, and trade center.
Commissioner Cui Jianchun met with the delegation and said that Hong Kong has maintained close economic, trade, and cultural ties with ASEAN. The Commissioner’s Office will continue to support Hong Kong in leveraging its unique advantages of connecting China with the world, and deepening exchanges and cooperation with ASEAN in various fields.
The delegates spoke highly of the visit and expressed their expectation that Hong Kong and ASEAN will further deepen cooperation in areas such as economy and trade.
