On January 26, 2026, Commissioner Cui Jianchun, met with H.E. Mr. Khalil Hashimi, Pakistani Ambassador to China, who was visiting Hong Kong. Deputy Commissioner Mr. Hua You, Mr. Riaz Ahmed Shaikh, the Consul General of Pakistan in Hong Kong and others participated.

Commissioner Cui welcomed Ambassador Hashmi's visit to Hong Kong, spoke positively of the China-Pakistan relationship, and briefed him on the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the successful practice of "One Country, Two Systems" in Hong Kong, and Hong Kong’s unique advantages. He expressed the hope that Pakistan would seize the development opportunities in Hong Kong and deepen exchanges and cooperation across various fields. 

Ambassador Hashmi stated that Pakistan has always regarded China as its closest friend and partner. He indicated that the Pakistani side, taking the joint celebration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China as an opportunity, is committed to promoting the sustained and sound development of bilateral relations. Pakistan values Hong Kong’s unique advantages and is willing to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with Hong Kong in trade, finance, culture and other areas.
