On August 23, Commissioner Cui Jianchun met with Jeremy Shelton, the New Chair of the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, and Paul McComb, the Executive Director upon request.
Commissioner Cui congratulated Jeremy Shelton on his new position, appreciated the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong for its constructive role in promoting the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong, and welcomed the Chamber to make greater contribution to improving the development of Hong Kong and the relations between China and the UK. Commissioner Cui briefed the Chamber on the third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and encouraged the Chamber to seize the opportunities from China’s deepening opening-up, and to achieve win-win development.
Shelton and McComb both said that the Chamber cherished the unique status and advantages of Hong Kong, looked positively the prospect of Hong Kong’s future development, and would actively promote cooperation and communication in various areas such as business, trade, finance, science and technology.
