Commissioner Cui Jianchun Attended the Opening Ceremony of the National Security Exhibition Gallery of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Delivered a Speech

On August 6, 2024, the opening ceremony of the National Security Exhibition Gallery of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) was held at the Hong Kong Museum of History. Chief Executive of the HKSAR, John Lee, Director of Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR, Zheng Yanxiong, Head of the Office for Safeguarding National Security of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR, Dong Jingwei and Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the HKSAR, Cui Jianchun, attended the opening ceremony as officiating guests and delivered speeches. About 120 representatives from the offices of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong, the HKSAR government and various sectors of the community attended the ceremony.



Commissioner Cui warmly congratulated the inauguration of the National Security Exhibition Gallery of the HKSAR. Combined with the guiding principles of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, Commissioner Cui elaborated on the relationship between high-level security and high-quality development, emphasized that the good state of Hong Kong's turnaround from chaos to stability and prosperity is hard-won, and it is important to persist in safeguarding national security and adhere to the rule of law. Commissioner Cui calls on Hong Kong compatriots to jointly protect Hong Kong and work together to create a better future. The Commissioner’s office will continue to take a clear-cut stance against interference and unswervingly protect national security, fully support Hong Kong in its effort to maintain its distinctive status and edges, and help Hong Kong achieve better and faster development in the process of integrating itself into the country’s overall development.


The National Security Exhibition Gallery is the first thematic gallery in the HKSAR dedicated to systematic promotion of national security education, which is organised by the Committee for Safeguarding National Security of the HKSAR. The Gallery aims to raise the awareness of Hong Kong residents in national security and their sense of responsibility and mission to safeguard national security, it will be open to the public starting from August 7 and become an important window for citizens, especially young people, to understand more about national security.
